Mrs. Christy Monaco

Ms. Christy Monaco serves as the Vice President of Programs at the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation. USGIF is the leading non-profit educational foundation for advancing the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) tradecraft to address global security challenges. As the Vice President of Programs, Ms. Monaco leads content development for all the Foundation’s events and programs, including the Foundation’s signature annual GEOINT Symposium, and also oversees overall membership engagement and Foundation marketing and communications.


A 30-year veteran of the intelligence community and Department of Defense, Ms. Monaco finished her federal career in the role of Chief Ventures Officer (CVO) at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA).  She brings a breadth of experience from prior service in human intelligence, program and financial management, customer experience and corporate communications at NGA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and the Office of Naval Intelligence.  As CVO, Monaco was an advocate and transformational leader in partnerships between the federal government, industry, and academia, and as such was recognized with a Presidential Rank Award as a Meritorious Executive by President Biden.


Ms. Monaco holds a B.A. in Russian and English from Vanderbilt University, an M.I.M. in International Commerce from the University of Maryland, and an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University. She is also a Pilates enthusiast and instructor, enjoys fly fishing, painting, and playing guitar, and tries really hard to actually read the book club books.
