Mr. Gai Berkovich

As the General Manager (GM) of Waze, Gai leads the Technology and Product organizations including, product, engineering and community teams. Gai has been at Waze for over seven years, joining in February 2016 as Waze’s COO, and has over 17 years of experience in R&D and operational management. He is based at Google’s Tel Aviv office. Prior to Waze, Gai held a variety of executive positions at various companies, including serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., as well as Vice President of Research and Development for Verint Systems, where he managed over 200 developers, system architects, team leaders and QA managers. He also served as a Vice President of Research and Development for Intercaste Networks, a flexible video platform for managing and delivering personalized video from storage. Gai lives in Kiryat Ono with his wife, two children and their cats and dogs. Outside of work, he can be found diving, sailing or driving off-road through the desert! Gai is passionate about mentoring young entrepreneurs and enjoys sharing his learnings with Israel’s next generation of leaders.
